2006 Kawasaki STX-15F
This one was listed as "just needing a starter." Once I got it home, the engine turned out to be completely seized, so the "good deal" became a full teardown and rebuild, including porting and polishing the cylinder head. The ski runs strong again, and both the rebuild and its first time back on the water are documented on the channel. It also got me thinking: the stock ECU has no idea the head was reworked, and that question is what started my deeper dive into tuning Kawasaki's factory ECUs.
ECU diagnostics & tuning
This ski is also the example project for the ECU/tuning side of the site — reverse engineering, logging, and calibration work lives separately in the Learn section rather than mixed in with the restoration photos.
Free tool: K-line Logger
The live data logger I built for these skis. It reads the ECU through the diagnostic port and records every ride.
